CHINA'S Quan Hongchan won the hearts of the people of her country after her sensational debut at the Tokyo Olympics where she won gold in the 10m platform.

The diving teen sensation will now probably have to contend with friendly siblings rivalry now that netizens are talking about the potential of her 12-year-old sister Quan Hongtao, and younger brother, 10-year-old Quan Jinpeng.

The Zhanjiang Sports School also known as "the cradle of diving champions" is the venue all the siblings train at. The acclaimed school also has the honour of having produced Lao Lishi and the 2008 Beijing Olympics men’s 3-metre springboard champion He Chong.

Spotted by coach Chen Minghua, the younger sister started training  at the age of seven as opposed to her sister who only started at nine. They stay and train together at the same venue.

Expectations are high for the sisters to compete together in Paris 2024 and win the gold as a pair. - Agencies. August 16, 2021
