CHAOS broke out in the sixth minute of stoppage time when Celta Vigo’s captain, Hugo Mallo, made a poor tackle on Luis Suarez during their football match against Atletico Madrid.

Advantage was played initially, but then Mario Hermoso confronted Mallo by grabbing the right-back by the neck in the process of calling him out for the poor tackle.

Several players then pushed and shoved each other, with others being physically dragged away by teammates.

Once the brawl fizzled out, Jose Luis Munuera Montero sent off both Mallo and Hermoso. Moments later, Atletico fitness coach, Profe Ortega, was also dismissed for a comment made from the bench.

The Atletico Madrid team was already infuriated after a penalty was given against them for a controversial handball call. – Agencies, August 17, 2021
