FOOTBALL fans know just how good a manager Thomas Tuchel is after he turned around the fortunes of Chelsea. Taking over midway last season, he led the Blues to Champions League glory - all in a space of less than six months.
But what many may not know is that Tuchel is an extremely generous person.
When he switched clubs as coach - from Borussia Dortmund to Paris St Germain, Tuchel and his wife had hired a Filipino housekeeper.
It transpired the housekeeper made herself available at all hours to the Tuchel family and that did not go unnoticed by Tuchel.
The current Chelsea manager found out that the reason being the housekeeper was trying to raise enough money to fund a major heart surgery for her son.
It tugged the heartstrings of the 48-year-old coach and he decided to fund the entire cost of the surgery and the operation went on very well. The housekeeper's son made a full recovery.
The generosity of Tuchel towards the housekeeper did not end there.
As his time as coach of PSG came to an untimely end when he was sacked, the Tuchel family decided to fulfil the life-long dream of the housekeeper - to own a house in the Philippines and settle down there.
Tuchel dug deep into his pockets again and bought the housekeeper her dream house in her home country where she now resides with her family. - Agencies, September 19, 2021
