KUALA LUMPUR – All England champion, Lee Zii Jia, is proud to be the youngest player to lead the Malaysian squad in the 2020 Thomas and Uber Cup badminton tournament, which kicks off tomorrow in Denmark.
Previously, the national singles ace helped to give Malaysia a third-place finish in the Sudirman Cup in Vantaa, Finland.
“I am proud to be the youngest captain and represent my beloved country in prestigious tournaments, like the Sudirman Cup as well as the Thomas and Uber Cup,” Lee told The Vibes after being appointed brand ambassador of LG Puricare.
“I try to keep my focus on the court and not think too much about the pressure.”
The world number eight said that he trains daily to stay fit and motivated for upcoming tournaments.
“When preparing for the Thomas Cup, I would train every day to retain my fitness, motivate myself and my team.”
As a national badminton player, it is critical that Lee maintains his overall health and wellbeing.
“I have to stay healthy to do my best on the court,” the 2021 All England Open champion said assuredly.
One of the ways in which the 2019 SEA Games gold medallist stays healthy is by keeping himself hydrated and allocating time for self-care.
