KUALA LUMPUR – Petaling Jaya City FC (PJ City) will donate ticket sales from their Malaysia Cup first-round home game against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) on October 26 to the family of the late PJ City right-back, Rajes Perumal, who died in a motorbike accident on Monday.

Club president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal said PJ City owner Datuk Seri Vijay Eswaran wants the club to contribute the game’s ticket sales that will be played at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium as a tribute for Rajes’ services to the club.

“The late Rajes, 37, was with us since we made our debut in the Super League in 2019. Undoubtedly, his demise is a great loss to the club and Malaysian football fraternity. He was a highly disciplined player who was fully committed – both on and off the field.

“We hope all football fans will come out in full force to watch this game and contribute to a worthy cause. All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to Rajes’ family which includes his wife and three children. His passing came as a massive shock for all of us,” he said in a statement today.

Football fans can purchase their PJ City-JDT Malaysia Cup match tickets at the MBPJ Stadium on October 26, via www.tickethotline.com. Tickets are priced at RM30 for the grandstand and RM25 for the open terrace.

Rajes was killed in a motorcycle accident at Batu Muda when he lost control of his motorbike and crashed onto the left shoulder of the road before hitting a tree on Monday. – Bernama, October 20, 2022
