KUALA LUMPUR – National men’s singles star Lee Zii Jia is pulling out of the Super 300 Hylo Open that takes place from November 1 to 6 in Saarbrücken, Germany.

The news was confirmed by his manager, Lee Zii Yii, through a text message today.

Zii Yii, who is also his sister, said the world number 2 had to withdraw due to personal matters, but it is not clear if it is related to their grandfather’s demise on Monday.

“Zii Jia will withdraw from the upcoming Hylo Open due to personal matters which require him to return to Malaysia.

“Thanks for all the warm messages and concern,” she said.

“Hopefully, he will come back soon in action.”

Additionally, she could not confirm her brother’s participation in the Super 300 Australia Open from November 15 to 20.

She explained that the “visa application is quite complicated”.

“We are trying. We also need to see his condition.”
