KUALA LUMPUR – The Kuala Lumpur International Fight-Muay Thai 2022 is set to light up the Bukit Jalil National stadium this weekend as organisers are expecting about 10,000 people to flood the venue for the two-day event.

The tournament will see 26 professional participants from Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Morocco, and France competing against each for the prize.

This tournament is organised in collaboration with the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations and the World Muay Thai Council.

“The objective of this competition is to create a platform for Muay Thai related events and promote Malaysia as an international sports venue.

“At the same time, this tournament will also create an awareness in the community regarding Muay Thai while witnessing glimpses of local and foreign participants during the tournament,” said Hallo Fight Lab president Mohd Hazrul Mohd Sapri.

Meanwhile, organising committee member and secretary of Hallo Fight Lab, Mohd Faizul Mat Alewi said that the participants will be competing according to their body weight.

“The tournament has a total of seven categories: 52kg, 55kg, 60kg, 63kg, 63.5kg, 64kg, and 76kg.

“The winners will get a trophy along with prize money for each category,” he said.

At the same time, the organisers will organise esports tournaments for the public to participate, while attendees enjoy the Asian cuisines from 30 food vendors.

The esports games include Tekken and Streetfighter.

The tickets are sold at RM30, RM50 and RM150 for adults, while admission is free for children under 12 years old. – The Vibes, December 2, 2022
