KUALA LUMPUR – Kelantan United winger Ikhwan Yazek received praise from Manchester City midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne for his assist against Kuala Lumpur City FC during their Super League match recently.
In a video released on Stadium Astro’s Twitter account, the four-time Premier League winner was asked to rate the best assists from players who ply their trade in the Malaysian Super League.

The Belgian was shown clips of four players, which included Terengganu’s Bahraini midfielder Habib Haroon, JDT’s Italian forward Fernando Forestieri, Ikhwan, and Perak’s Wan Zack Haikal.
Although he liked all of them, he was impressed with Ikhwan’s assist, which landed perfectly for his teammate to take a one-touch hammer home against KL City.
“That’s a really nice one. When you put the attacker one versus one with the goalkeeper you’ve done a great job.
“You can’t put them in a better position than that.
“The way he puts the pass in between the defenders and the keeper, he made it the easiest for the attacker,” said De Bruyne.
City’s vice-captain has been playing a pivotal role in the defending champions charge towards their third consecutive league title as they lead second-place Arsenal by one point with a game in hand. – The Vibes, May 5, 2023
