KUALA LUMPUR – National obstacle course athlete William Yoong Wei Theng gave Malaysia its first medal at the Cambodia SEA Games after taking home bronze in the 100m men’s event today.

William’s time of 28.234s landed him in third position ahead of Cambodia’s Ol Saohengk at the Chroy Changvar Convention Centre.

The Philippines bagged two medals as Mark Julius Malabriga Rodelas won gold with his time of 25.194s, ahead of compatriot Kevin Jeffrey Dador Pascua who took home the silver medal after clocking 26.814s.

The Philippines now have 12 medals at the 32nd edition of the games and are tied at the top with hosts Cambodia.

William will be competing again tomorrow in the men’s relay with teammates Redha Rozlan, Nur Hafis Said Alwi, and Ghlaib Azimi as they take on the Philippines. – The Vibes, May 6, 2023
