KUALA LUMPUR – Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik’s quest for a World Tour title continues after losing to Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in the final of the Indonesia Open today.

Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair have not won a World Tour title despite being crowned world champions last year.

But the omens going into the match were good for the Malaysian pair due to their perfect 8-0 record against the Indian duo.

However, Rankireddy-Shetty broke their duck against the Malaysians by winning the final in straight sets 21-17, 21-18.

This is the fifth World Tour final for Aaron-Wooi Yik that they have failed to win.

In January, the pair lost in the final of the India Open.

They were also runners-up at the 2018 SaarLorLux Open, 2019 All England, and 2020 Thailand Open. – The Vibes, June 18, 2023
