KUALA LUMPUR – Yesterday was the much-anticipated border reopening for Malaysians and international travellers, especially from Singapore and Thailand, as the country transitions out of the pandemic phase after more than two years.

The atmosphere along the two Johor-Singapore links were abuzz with vehicles and pedestrians coming and going, while the Kuala Lumpur International Airport welcomed international arrivals with 119 flights yesterday.

However, it was not a walk in the park, as there are still certain standard operating procedures in place, including different regulations adhered to by neighbouring countries, especially Thailand.

For example, one needs to prepare insurance coverage, hotel room bookings and Covid-19 test results.
