MOSCOW – The death toll in a Philippine military plane crash yesterday has gone up to 50, while 49 servicemen are injured, said the Sputnik news agency, quoting ABS-CBN reports citing a Philippine armed forces spokesman.
Maj Gen Edgard Arevalo today said authorities have found the bodies of the remaining five missing troops.
Of the 50 dead, 47 were soldiers, and the other three, civilians.
Arevalo said besides the 49 troops hurt, four civilians also sustained injuries.
It was earlier reported that the crash killed 45 soldiers, while 42 people were found alive.
There were over 80 individuals aboard the C-130 plane when it crashed on Jolo Island after missing the runway in a landing attempt.
