KUALA LUMPUR – The traffic heading north on the North Klang Valley Expressway is reported to be congested with a 10km crawl after a trailer caught fire on KM21.3 on the highway.

Speaking to The Vibes, a Plus highway spokesman said the incident occurred at approximately 4:18pm this afternoon and has caused a sudden traffic jam from Kota Damansara to Bukit Lanjan.

“There was no accident or collision.

“The Class 3 lorry just caught fire on its own. It is believed to be transporting soy sauce,” he told The Vibes.

As of 6:12pm, he said the middle lane was still closed and works on removing the vehicle is underway.

Meanwhile, Astro Radio Traffic shared a video of the incident on Twitter, showing the trailer that caught fire this afternoon, blocking the middle lane.

In a tweet, it said that the incident had also caused slow traffic on the opposite side of the highway as road users slowed down to get a glimpse of the burning vehicle. – The Vibes, March 4, 2022
