KUALA LUMPUR – The consumer price index (CPI) for last month dropped 1.7%, lower than expected, mostly due to damp fuel prices, Reuters reported.
The nine economists surveyed Reuters had a median forecast of a decline of 1.5% on-year, matching the CPI in October.
According to the report, November’s CPI decline was driven by an 11.1% on-year drop in the transport sector index.
It is also due to lower housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel prices, the Statistics Department said in a statement. – The Vibes, December 23, 2020
