KUALA LUMPUR – The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) will extend the period for several Prihatin initiatives until March 31 to ease the burden of contractors in registering or renewing their registration.
Chief executive Datuk Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid said the decision was made after examining the impact of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, especially the fresh movement control order (MCO).
"The extension is given following feedback from industry players, including the Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) and the Malaysian Malay Contractors Association (PKMM).
“The industry players affected by the Covid-19 situation and the MCO enforced this year, still need the initiatives," he said in a statement today.
He said among the initiatives are the CCD (continuous contractor development) point exemption for registration renewal, which has been extended from January 1 to March 31, adding that, beginning April 1, CIDB will implement 50% CCD point deduction for contractor registration renewal.
In addition, the management efficiency certificate (SKP) and business/facility and integrity course exemptions from the contractor registration renewal conditions have also been extended until March 31.
