KUALA LUMPUR – Asset management and infrastructure solutions company UEM Edgenta Bhd has recorded a net profit of RM6.13 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021 compared to a net loss of RM26.91 million in the same period last year.

Revenue rose to RM538.60 million from RM448.47 million previously, said the group in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

For the first half ended June 30, 2021, the company reported a net profit of RM12.83 million on the back of a RM1.0 billion revenue compared to a net loss of RM15.76 million and revenue of RM950.3 million in the same period a year ago.

“Growth in revenue is a testament to the company’s prudent efforts and business fundamentals’ resilience through its diversified portfolio and regional footprint. As of June 30, 2021, UEM Edgenta’s balance sheet remains healthy by maintaining a low gearing ratio at 0.3 times.”

Managing director and chief executive Syahrunizam Samsudin said UEM Edgenta persevered in the first half of 2021 by delivering on its promises to clients amid a challenging operating environment.

“Our contract wins across our businesses totalling RM720 million to date are a demonstration of our continued pursuit to deepen our presence in core and new markets, as well as expand our services and solutions.
