SHAH ALAM – Karangkraf Media Group’s Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub is poised to announce his resignation as group chairman and publisher effective November 1.

Also announcing his resignation – effective on the same date – is deputy group chairman Datuk Muhammad Nasir Hamzah.

Following their resignation, Hussamuddin and Nasir will be appointed as the company’s advisor and co-advisor respectively.

The duo will also relinquish their positions on the board and the company will appoint five new board members to succeed them.

The five are Firdaus Hussamuddin, Akmal Eirfan Mohamed Fauzi, Farah Hussamuddin, Azizi Fikry and Izzat Izhar Muhammad Nasir.

Firdaus will be appointed as group chairman as well as executive director, CEO, and publisher of the group’s book and Quran publishing division, which includes Karya Bestari, Grup Buku Karangkraf and its subsidiaries. 

Previously, he was Grup Buku Karangkraf Sdn Bhd CEO.

Akmal Eirfan will be appointed as group executive director of corporate, finance and risk management. He was previously the CEO of Ultimate Print Sdn Bhd.

Farah will be appointed as the executive director, CEO and publisher of the group’s media division which includes the company’s news outfits, Sinar Harian and Sinar Daily. 

She was previously the CEO of Sinar Karangkraf Sdn Bhd.

Azizi will be appointed as the executive director and CEO of the printing and manufacturing division, which includes Ultimate Print Sdn Bhd and Karangkraf Medicare Sdn Bhd. He was previously the deputy COO of Ultimate Print Sdn Bhd.

Izzat Izhar will be appointed as the group’s book and Quran publishing division executive director and COO. – The Vibes, October 25, 2022
