AFTER taking a hiatus from the stage, Stacy Anam, 33, a former Akademi Fantasia champion, is set to make a comeback performance at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), which will take place on February 25. She will bring fans on her 15-year music journey through chart-topping pop, rock, dance and ballad songs.

Known for her stage presence and energetic dance routines, Stacy will join the ranks of fellow artists such as Yuna, Najwa, Aizat, Hafiz, Faizal Tahir, Hujan, Ruffedge, Noryn Aziz and Dayang Nurfaizah, who have showcased their brilliant musicianship and enthralled their fans at the venue known for its beautiful acoustics.

"It will be an amazing show. I will be singing 16 songs infused with a Broadway style, accompanied by a live band and six dancers in an elaborate performance,” she said during a press conference at DFP.

The singer said it was a dream come true to have received the offer to perform at DFP and has been eagerly rehearsing over the past few months.

"I had to take a hiatus to focus on my household affairs and my children. I could not believe it when I received the call. I admit, after the birth of my children, my singing career slowed down a bit. I did not think there was anyone willing to call me. So, I was surprised to receive the offer,” she said.

"After a few years of not performing, I was worried if I would be able to do it. I consider the offer as a challenge to myself.”

Despite over a decade in the industry, the performance will be her first full length solo concert in which she was given complete creative control and direction.

“I’ve always wanted to stage a concert. Usually, I only perform for single promotional events or award ceremonies, but this time is different because I will be performing in my own concert," she said.

To add to the excitement, the singer will be introducing her latest single for the first time during the night of the concert. “I will introduce the latest single exclusively at the concert. I am really looking forward to it,” she added.

Her show will include an elaborate stage dressing, multiple costume changes and for the first-time, dance performances at the philharmonic hall.

"This concert will be the starting point for me to be active again in the world of singing," she said.

The concert will also feature guest performances from her husband, Akim Ahmad, who will sing some duet numbers with her. Akim and his band The Majistret previously performed on the same stage in 2017.

The concert is a continuous effort on the part of the DFP in supporting local music talents and providing them with a platform to demonstrate their virtuosity, in line with its mission to offer a variety of music genres that appeal to audiences from all walks of life.
