Malaysia ranked 22nd friendliest country in 2025

MALAYSIA was ranked as the 22nd friendliest country in a list of 89 others, with Canada, Spain and New Zealand topping the list.

Thailand was ranked 9th, while The Philippines took the 19th spot.

The rankings are based on subjective views of expats in the United States and expert opinions and “the level of friendliness” is entirely dependent upon each individual’s personal experiences.

The bottom ten countries in the list were Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe, Kuwait, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Belarus, Israel, Russia and Iran which ranked from 80th to 89th.

Japan took 21st spot, just above Malaysia, while Turkey was ranked 23rd. – September 30, 2025
