AFTER more than 23 years with the Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KLSICCI), VKK Rajasekaran has joined the race for the president’s post.

The elections for the term 2026-2028 will be held on June 14.

“This decision is not driven by personal interests, but rather born from the belief that KLSICCI has great potential to re-emerge as a more influential, relevant and respected business organisation in championing the interests of the Indian business community in this country,” he said in a statement.

He said many entrepreneurs have built networks, expanded their businesses and discovered new opportunities through KLSICCI. This legacy is something to be proud of and cherished, said Rajasekaran.

Championing the slogan ‘from legacy to leverage’, he said it means that the legacy owned by KLSICCI must be fully utilised to create real value, opportunities and benefits for members.

“I also want to see KLSICCI play a more active role in helping members adopt technology, strengthen digital capabilities and explore new economic opportunities that are growing in the modern era.

“From legacy to leverage” is not just a slogan. It is a commitment to restore KLSICCI’s influence and ensure that every member benefits from the strengths of this organisation,” he added. – June 10, 2026
