POPULAR bread manufacturer Gardenia’s anti-bullying campaign reached more than 51,000 students and 4,000 teachers from 40 schools through roadshows, creative video competitions, and social media awareness contests.

SK Lanchang, Pahang and SMK Tinggi Kajang topped their respective video categories, while SMK King George V, Seremban claimed the social media prize.

Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with the Education Ministry, held the closing ceremony and prize-Giving of the ‘Berani Tegur, Berani Bertindak’ anti-bullying campaign 2026 at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Puchong Permai.

The ceremony was officiated by Azman Mahsuri, Deputy Director, School Planning and Management Sector 2, Daily School Management Division of the MOE.

Running from April to October, the campaign is Gardenia’s initiative to strengthen awareness of bullying in schools, while empowering students to speak up, dare to call out, and take action when they face or witness bullying incidents at school.

Throughout the campaign, more than 51,000 students and 4,000 teachers from 40 primary and secondary schools participated actively in the programme.

The campaign uses the latest media apparatus to empower students to fight back against bullying and by calling on society to also aid the youngsters in their quest to make schools a conducive place to learn instead of allowing it to be an intimidation ground. - November 2, 2026.
