THE holy month of Ramadan will soon be upon us and while we are allowed to go out and dine, caution is still the name of the game.

So, if you are too fatigued to whip up a buka puasa meal but do not fancy going out, Dignity for Children Foundation has the perfect answer for you.

Through its transformational enterprise, eat X, the non-governmental organisation, is offering special buka puasa dinner sets for your family. Eat X is run by migrants and B40 communities in the Sentul/Kuala Lumpur area.

Their specialty is the Nasi Kerabu Raya Family Meal ideal for a family of up to five persons. The meal consists of one whole roasted chicken, five nasi kerabu complete with fresh ulam, grated coconut, keropok and salted egg, homemade kuih platter and five bottles of honey lemon. All these for only RM130 (excluding delivery).

Individual meals of ayam percik with either nasi dagang or nasi kerabu with three side dishes and a drink are also available at RM35 per meal (delivery not included).

Natalie Tan, Head of Enterprise: “Our transformational enterprises equipped our students and their families with life skills that take them beyond academics. It is part of our holistic education approach.

“We are very excited to be offering our nasi dagang/nasi kerabu this season. It is a specialty of eat X and is extremely popular. I am truly proud of our students and those who worked so hard to put together these offerings in spite of their personal and external challenges. I truly hope that Malaysians will support their endeavours and spur them on.”

And, we all know that Ramadan and Raya are not just about us but also giving to others. Dignity’s eat X also allows you to gift a meal. For RM75, you can help feed a family of four and spread the festive cheer. The family will receive a whole chicken and four rice. Delivery is included in the price.

And, what is Raya without cookies!  Here, yet another of Dignity’s transformational enterprises, bake X, is whipping up five different types of cookies that are perfect as gifts or for self-consumption. These are Sentul Sugee Biscuits (RM18), Red Velvet Cookies (RM18), Honey Cornflake Clusters (RM20), Chocolate Almond Slices (RM20) and London Almond Biscuits (RM24). The cookies can also be bought in sets of three different flavours ranging from RM60-RM70 per set depending on cookie types.

For more information on how you can book your break-fast meals and pre-order for Raya as well as to make a difference in the lives of the 1,600 children at Dignity, log on to https://dignityforchildren.org/shop/raya-2021 to know more detailed information about this special offers. – The Vibes, April 12, 2021
