HAVE you ever felt lost and confused at any one stage of your life? Are you actively searching for answers and asking yourself what your life purpose could be?

Most of us feel a strong urge to fill up this deep void within. At times, we may feel very frustrated, depressed, angry and needing to just run away from everyone and everything. And yet we cannot as we have our responsibilities as a mother, wife, daughter and friend.

We play many roles and wear different hats. We feel a sense of failure or worse, guilt or even resentment, when we can’t meet the expectations to fit into society, culture, religion and community expectations. We may eventually lose ourselves in our conflicted emotional pain.

After giving so much of ourselves to our loved ones, we forget how to receive love, gestures of kindness, and to have respect and consideration for ourselves.

This is the start of a vicious cycle of feeling not good enough, unsupported, constantly not trusting and settling for unhealthy or unsatisfying relationships.

Society can be very harsh and highly judgmental at times, causing us to feel overwhelmed, cold and numb trying to keep up with the expectations. When we stop feeling, we become more aligned with the masculine aspects of ourselves than our feminine. The balance has become upset.

Women are born nurturers. We are all perfect and unique divine beings. We are made from the seed of love and to reconnect to this part of us is to love ourselves first. It is not an act of selfishness but an act of honouring who we are and allowing ourselves to do the things we love. To not doubt or be afraid to listen to our hearts and to start living truly.

Through reconnecting with your feminine power, you will emerge in the sacredness of this gentle, graceful and powerful individual – YOU. All that inner wisdom that lies within you.

With this wisdom, you can affect your circle and the larger community with your compassion and unconditional love. When we heal, we heal the entire village. The innate power of a woman is the ability to love generously and offer her support without any expectations.

You are not alone and together we can create a beautiful, harmonious and balanced society. Reconnect, remember and rejuvenate your soul by reclaiming your feminine power!

Tips on how to nurture and harness your feminine power:

  1. Get in touch with your inner child. Remember what simple joys you had as a child and find your unabashed playfulness. Or discover any hurts your inner child may have embodied, and acknowledge and reassure her that it will be OK. If dealing with childhood trauma, talk to a qualified therapist to help deal with these issues stemming from the past.
  2. Laugh more and find joy in whatever you do. If you need help in reconnecting with that lost mirth, watch funny sitcoms and do the simple things that make you happy. Like cooking a favourite meal, or hanging out with your pets.
  3. Spend more time in nature. Nature is one of the best medicines to heal your soul and mind. Take a walk outside and immerse yourself in the trees and foliage of your neighbourhood if you live in an urban setting. See your natural surroundings with new eyes. Cultivate a balcony garden or indoor potted plants if this is all you can do now during the pandemic. Even a bouquet of fresh flowers on your dining room table can be a boon to your spirit if your surroundings are tree-less and austere.
  4. Trust your intuition. Your inner voice never goes wrong. You can do this by practising sitting in silence.
  5. Time out. Give yourself some space and ‘me time’ to recharge yourself. Do NOT feel guilty that you are taking this time for yourself. Everyone deserves this space. And in this space, do what makes you happy. Even if it is enjoying a cold drink by yourself, taking a luxurious nap in the middle of the afternoon, or doing absolutely nothing at all.
  6. Find a good book to read. Explore subjects that fascinate you on the Internet, and look for books written by credible authors on the subject. Cultivate an interest in something. Even popular novels allow us to ‘escape’ into another realm in our imagination.
  7. Get out of your comfort zone and learn new things. Always wanted to paint? Join a class. Many sites are offering online learning on subjects as diverse as crocheting to voice-over acting, cooking, writing your memoir, video editing and so much more.
  8. Be curious like a child and be adventurous. This is one of the secrets to keeping you from ageing fast.
  9. Your body is your sacred temple. When you listen to your body, nurture and pamper it, and it will serve you better. Discover foods that make you feel well, body and skincare routines that make you feel great, and exercise routines that energise you and make you glow from within.
  10. Meditate. Keeping calm and peaceful helps boost your immune system. A calm state will help you centre your being and keep you in the present, where you will feel more grounded to deal with whatever life throws at you.
