KUALA LUMPUR – Following a successful pilot programme in collaboration with the Mental Health & Psychosocial Support team at the pilot hospital, Oyo Hotels & Homes is expanding its initiative.

It will offer 60% discounts applicable at more than 200 rooms at Oyo hotels serving as transit centres for frontline medical workers in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

Staff from nine government hospitals across Selangor – in Ampang, Banting, Kajang, Klang, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selayang, Serdang, Shah Alam and Sungai Buloh – are freely able to use the facilities and bedrooms at Oyo hotels close to their workplace to rest.

Besides the hospitals in Selangor, Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) is also part of this programme.

“Amidst the surge in cases in the past month, we have all seen the immense burden that our healthcare workers are bearing, especially in states like Selangor, which has recorded the most cases nationwide.

"At Oyo, we believe in doing what we can to relieve this burden. So in this spirit, we are offering our hotels as places for these heroic frontline workers to rest and refresh themselves,” said Tan Ming Luk, vice-president & head, Oyo Malaysia & Singapore.

As part of the programme, rooms are available at heavily discounted rates while the medical personnel are also provided with a complimentary full-sized toiletry kit for their personal use. – The Vibes, August 16, 2021
