PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government would strengthen its cybersecurity to prevent cyber attacks such as the incident in which the Social Security Organisation (Socso) website was hacked.

To this end, Anwar said the National Security Council and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) would cooperate with cybersecurity firms.

He said this to reporters at the Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium today.

Yesterday, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil reportedly said Cybersecurity Malaysia, the National Cyber Security Agency and the Personal Data Protection Department would investigate the December 2 cyberattack of the Socso database. – Bernama, December 9, 2023.
