THE KK Mart petrol bomb incident on Sunday in Kuching has all the bearings of peninsular politics, a Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) leader said.

Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok, who is the SUPP Stakan branch chief, said it looks like the Malayan style of politics has reached Sarawak.

"The attack at KK Mart in Satok has clear signs of the aggressive political style being spread nowadays in Malaya, where race and religion are being used aggressively," he said in a press statement today.

"It is sad that we in Sarawak are already seeing such political styles infiltrating our society. We need to put a stop to it at its roots immediately.

"We cannot afford to have such styles of politics spreading in our state."

Sim said Gabungan Parti Sarawak component parties must unite against such politics.

Sarawak folks have expressed fears that the KK Mart attack in Kuching could be the work of an organised party.

Society for Rights of Indigenous Peoples of Sarawak northern Sarawak coordinator Michael Ding warned that matters of race and religion could fester if provocateurs were allowed to continue inciting the people. – The Vibes, April 4, 2024
