KOTA BARU – The decision to directly channel development allocation for parliamentary and state seats in Kelantan to elected representatives shows solidarity between Muafakat Nasional and Perikatan Nasional, reported Astro Awani today.

Starting next year, said Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, the allocation will bypass area supervisors, and go straight to MPs and assemblymen.

The move will foster ties between Umno, Bersatu and PAS, he was quoted as saying.

“We want to strengthen the relationships in MN and PN. Previously, the allocations were channelled to area supervisors.

“The supervisors could not manage all the Umno and Bersatu reps. So now, we give (the allocations) to the elected reps directly as a sign of political cooperation.”

Following this, the post of area supervisors in Umno- and Bersatu-held seats will be nullified.
