SENATOR Mohd Hasbie Muda has apologised and said he was willing to accept a fine after he was photographed parking his vehicle on a pedestrian walkway in the city centre.

Hasbie, who is Amanah youth chief, said he would not do it again.

“As the owner of the vehicle, I regretfully apologise for what has happened and take full responsibility.

“I regret the inconvenience the act has caused and am willing to be compounded for the offence.

“I promise this will not recur,” the senator posted on X.

Earlier, a post on X showed that Hasbie had parked his vehicle on the pavement in an undesignated spot.

Social media users expressed anger over the photo, saying government officials should set a better example.

“Since MPs are paid parking allowances ... Why don’t they use it to pay for parking? Who is this MP?” one of them asked. – July 25, 2024.
