THE Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) responded to 33 cases of fallen trees over five days, according to an official report from its operations centre.
The emergency calls were received between 7 am on October 18 and 7 am on October 23, covering various districts across the state.
Among the affected areas, Kota Belud saw the highest number of incidents with seven cases, followed by Tuaran with five, and Putatan with four.
Other districts impacted include Kunak with three cases, Penampang with three, Keningau with two, Papar with two, and one case each in Tambunan, Sandakan, Beluran, Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, Kudat, and Kuala Penyu.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a Category 1 storm warning via its app, MyCuaca.
The department has also continuously updated its Facebook rainfall in many areas on the West Coast of Sabah in the last four days.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department acting director Farhan Sufyan Borhan urged the public to stay prepared for unpredictable weather that could lead to disasters such as floods and fallen trees.
"The public should remain vigilant and be ready to face the uncertainties of weather, especially as heavy rains and thunderstorms could result in floods and fallen trees," Farhan said in a statement.
