NATIONAL oil giant Petronas is providing financial assistance to purchase much-needed health equipment for rural Sarawak clinics as part of its efforts to help villagers in the state.
The management of Petronas has liaised with Sarawak health authorities on this community outreach project, said Petronas general manager for Sarawak, Norazibah Mohd Rabu.
Speaking when visiting Klinik Sebauh in Sebauh district in northern Sarawak recently, she said Petronas has a list of clinics ready.
"In the list, there are 26 rural clinics identified as needing important health and medical equipment vital for the daily use of patients.
"Petronas is giving aid to six of these clinics already.
"The clinics are Klinik Daro, Klinik Sebangan, Klinik Tanjung Manis, Klinik Machan, Klinik Nanga Tau and Klinik Sebauh.
"We have set aside RM 1.3 million for buying clinical equipment," she said.
This move to help purchase important clinical items for the rural population will be an ongoing effort by Petronas, she added.
Norazibah said the provision of such clinical aid reflects the desire of Petronas to help promote good health among Sarawakians living in rural districts.
“Petronas is also helping rural folks in other social fronts as part of its corporate social responsibilities outreach,” she added. - December 26, 2024
