THREE men and a woman died while three others were seriously injured in a collision involving three saloon cars and two motorcycles in Kuching today.

Two others escaped with minor injuries.

The 1 pm incident happened along the Jalan Stutong stretch of the highway leading to the Kuching International Airport.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said the four victims were declared dead at the site.

"Our units rushed to the scene after an emergency alert and found that nine people were involved.

"Medical personnel at the scene confirmed that the four victims were dead in the wreckage," said the department.

Those injured were rushed to the hospital.

The department said the cause of the accident is being probed and police have been informed. - January 14, 2025
