POLICE have confirmed that stimulant drug intoxication was responsible for the deaths of three individuals who attended a New Year's Eve concert in Bandar Sunway.

According to Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, pathology reports have confirmed that the three victims died due to drug overdose, while the report for the fourth victim is still pending.

The investigation is still ongoing, with 53 witnesses already interviewed, and once completed, the case will be referred to the coroner.

Hussein also confirmed that another individual who attended the event remains in stable condition at the hospital but is being closely monitored.

The victims are believed to have consumed ecstasy at the concert, with the preliminary investigation suggesting drug use as the likely cause of the fatalities. Authorities continue to gather evidence as part of the investigation. - February 19, 2025
