KELANTAN police will conduct further investigations into the death of 19-month-old Hud Aryan Mohd Nor Hafifi, who was found dead yesterday, following concerns that there may be elements of negligence.

According to Berita Harian, Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat, said he has instructed Tanah Merah District Police Chief, Mohd Haki Hasbullah, to continue the investigation.

The results of the autopsy conducted yesterday showed no signs of injury or criminal elements.

“However, I have instructed the district police chief to conduct further investigations.

"This is based on a viral TikTok post that claimed it is impossible for the 19-month-old child to reach the river in just a few minutes.

"Therefore, the police will record statements of the victim's parents today.

“We are concerned there may be elements of negligence," he said.

Yesterday, the search and rescue (SAR) operation for Hud Aryan was halted after his body was found around 4:15 pm.

Hud Aryan, who is also the only child of the couple, Azean Nur Atikah Ramley, 34, and Mohd Nor Hafifi Saidi, 34, was reported missing around 7:20 pm on Monday.

It was reported that before the incident, Hud Aryan was at home and was being fed by his mother, who then went to the kitchen after feeding her child.

The victim's aunt, Azean Irdawati Ramley, 44, was reported to have said that the child's mother also found the house gate open.

Hud's disappearance was only noticed after a visiting neighbour inquired about him. – February 27, 2025
