JELUTONG MP RSN Rayer has joined others to lodge a report against controversial preacher Zamri Vinoth over his Facebook posting which mocks the Hindu religious festival of Thaipusam.

"I just lodged a report at the Dangi Wangi Police Station in Kuala Lumpur against Zamri Vinoth.

"In the same report I have urged the police to take action against Zamri for not only mocking and ridiculing Thaipusam but also linking it with the death of a fireman the late Adib at Seafield in Subang Jaya, Selangor," he said.

Rayer said the act by Zamri is a deliberate one to stoke racial tension and cause disharmony in the country.

"I urge to police to act immediately and swiftly against Zamri Vinoth who must face the full force of the law," he said.

Meanwhile, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang also has strongly warned all parties not to repeat the act of spreading statements in the form of provocation, insults, and ridiculing religion on social media platforms.  - March 6, 2024
