A WOMAN who went viral for biting a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) enforcement officer and refusing to cooperate has been fined RM3,000.
Dang Wangi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said that the 30-year-old local woman was charged in court yesterday.
"The woman was charged under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of their duties. She pleaded guilty and was fined RM3,000 by the court," he said in a statement today.
Earlier, media reports revealed that DBKL enforcement officers were injured in two separate incidents involving unlicensed street vendors in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
An investigation has been opened by the police into three local male suspects, aged 15 to 39. The case will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action.
DBKL said that two police reports had been filed regarding the attacks on its enforcement officers, resulting in the arrest of four individuals.
A viral social media video showed a female street vendor resisting DBKL officers while they carried out their duties.
The 30-second video captured her screaming as three female officers attempted to calm her.
It is understood that the incident occurred when DBKL tried to seize the woman's vehicle. – March 9, 2025
