BANGI – All quarters intending to organise circumcision programmes are reminded to adhere to the set standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri said organisers are required to ensure that all those present are wearing face masks and exercise physical distancing throughout the programme.

“We have informed all parties (who want to conduct circumcision programmes) to always comply with the SOPs,” he said after officiating the Khatan Is’aadul Usrah 2020 programme, a circumcision programme organised by Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim), here today. The programme adhered to SOPs set by the National Security Council and Health Ministry.

The programme, carried out simultaneously nationwide with the co-operation of Ibnu Sina’s Medical Charity Organisation of Malaysia, is aimed at helping parents from the asnaf and B40 groups. – Bernama, December 20, 2020
