JELEBU MP Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias rubbished claims that 14 Umno MPs will withdraw support for the unity government.

The Umno Supreme Council member said such rumours were only to provoke Umno and create unnecessary problems.

"There is no such thing ... furthermore, all Umno MPs are bound by our pre-election agreements and the RM100 million bond," he was reported saying.

Jalaluddin is also the Negri Sembilan Umno chief.

He also pointed out that the party constitution was amended in 2023 to prevent MPs from opposing the party's decision.

"This includes political alliances and support for a prime minister.

"We are also prevented from signing any deals with political opponents," he said.

Rumours that 14 Umno MPs were going to withdraw support for the unity government was spread on social media last week. - March 15, 2025
