A DISABLED man has been remanded for seven days until May 1 in connection with a fatal stabbing incident believed to have stemmed from a dispute over a begging location in front of a bank in Section 18, Shah Alam.

Shah Alam District Police Chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the remand application for the 28-year-old suspect was granted by Magistrate Nur Azureen Zainalkefli at Shah Alam Hospital at 3.15pm today.

“The suspect has been admitted to a hospital observation ward after suffering a seizure. Further checks confirmed that he holds a disabled person (OKU) card for intellectual impairment,” said Mohd Iqbal in a statement.

A post-mortem conducted at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang confirmed that the 40-year-old victim died from a stab wound to the chest.

Further investigations revealed that the victim was married and resided in Klang with his wife, who works as a security guard.

“He also had an old injury on his right leg from a road accident three years ago and was fitted with an orthopaedic device known as an Ilizarov,” Mohd Iqbal added. - April 25, 2025
