A MAN has died and another was injured following a collision between two cars on Jalan Sungai Choh-Bukit Beruntung on Saturday evening.

Acting Head of Hulu Selangor District Police Deputy Superintendent Mohd Asri Mohd Yunus said the incident occurred at approximately 9.30pm when a 23-year-old man driving a Proton Satria from Gombak towards Bukit Beruntung collided head-on with a Proton Iriz coming from the opposite direction.

"Initial investigations revealed that the driver of the Proton Iriz, a 29-year-old man, had veered into the opposite lane before crashing into the Proton Satria," he said in a statement on Sunday.

"As a result of the collision, the driver of the Proton Satria was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the fire and rescue team before being confirmed dead at the scene."

Mohd Asri added that the victim's body was taken to the Forensic Unit of Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for an autopsy.

"The driver of the Proton Iriz, who sustained internal injuries, was sent to the Red Zone of Selayang Hospital for further treatment," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to come forward to assist with the investigation. - April 27, 2025
