Anwar dismisses claims of unfairness in PKR divisional elections
Mere presence of complaints does not automatically indicate wrongdoing or bias - April 29, 2025

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), said that the mere presence of complaints does not automatically indicate wrongdoing or bias in the party’s internal election process.

“Why do you think it’s not just? Because there’s a complaint, then it’s not just? Very prejudicial,” he told reporters following the groundbreaking ceremony for the Rumah Belia MADANI and Rumah Mampu Milik Mukim Batu projects today.

“Just because somebody complains, it’s not just? No. If there’s a complaint, we take it up. Now international auditors are checking in case there’s any validity. The question should be reasonable and not prejudicial,” he added.

Anwar was responding to questions about claims that the 2025 PKR divisional elections lacked fairness and transparency.

Yesterday, Dr Zaliha, who also chairs the PKR Party Election Committee (JPP), urged party members to lodge any grievances about the election process through official channels.

She confirmed that all complaints would be assessed by the JPP 2025 Objections and Complaints Committee.

Dr Zaliha’s comments followed reports of several candidates airing their dissatisfaction with the election results on social media platforms.  - April 29, 2025
