TEACHERS across Perak will deliver Friday sermons in mosques tomorrow, in conjunction with Teachers’ Day, following the royal consent of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah.

Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini, President of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), said in a statement that 115 teachers have been selected to act as orator or preacher (khatib) and deliver the sermon during Friday prayers.

"This is in recognition of the important role of educators. The Director of the State Education Department has given the names of 115 Education Service Officers in Perak to be submitted to the Sultan of Perak for His Royal Highness' consent," he said.

The State Islamic Religious Department has prepared a sermon entitled ‘Rabbani Teachers: Developing Human Dignity’ for the occasion.

Just last week, in conjunction with National Youth Day, Sultan Nazrin gave similar consent for youth to deliver the Friday sermon in mosques across the state. - May 15, 2025
