Man allegedly kills wife, tries burning down mother-in-law's house

A WOMAN died after she was allegedly stabbed by her husband in an incident at a house in Taman Cahaya, Bukit Gambir, in Tangkak, yesterday.

According to sources, the suspect, who is in his 30s, was also believed to have tried to burn down his mother-in-law's house in Lenga, Pagoh, Muar, which is located about 40 kilometres from his home.

However, the suspect only managed to burn several vehicles outside the house, reported Sinar Harian.

The suspect was later arrested by the police after returning to his home in Bukit Gambir this morning. 

Tangkak District Police Chief Roslan Mohd Talib confirmed the incident and said a statement would be issued soon.

The male suspect will be brought to the Tangkak Magistrate's Court for a remand application tomorrow morning. - June 3, 2025
