POLICE have traced the last email sent by David Balisong to his mother on July 9, asking her not to try to find him. Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the email sent by the 17-year-old about a week ago was his last communication with his family before he failed to be contacted.

“Among the contents of the email was ‘don’t worry, don’t try to find me. I wish all the family members success in life. I apologise for doing this’.

“However, (in the email) it was not stated when he would return to his family," he said.

Balisong, who is from Cheadle, Greater Manchester, was reported missing by his family after allegedly boarding a flight to Kuala Lumpur from the United Kingdom on June 6, without informing his parents.

He had told his younger brother that he was leaving early for school to sit for his A-Level examinations. That was the last time his family saw or heard from him .

Police have since recorded statements from five individuals in connection with the disappearance of the British teenager, who is believed to be still in Malaysia.

Hussein Omar said efforts to locate the 17-year-old are ongoing, and investigators are working on several leads. - July 16, 2025
