THE family of Tengku Nizaruddin Tengku Zainudin, 38, who went missing after the car he was driving plunged into Sungai Tui, Bukit Kepong in Muar on Monday, is hoping for a miracle as the man is yet to be found.

Although there is no indication yet of the exact location of Tengku Nizaruddin or better known as Ija, they are ready to accept whatever has happened to him, reported Harian Metro.

Norzila Yunus, 40, who is also Ija's cousin, prays that he would be found as soon as possible following the incident, which has now entered its fourth day.

"If he is found, we hope he is still alive, but we are prepared for anything.

"It's difficult for us to make assumptions because we don't know what really happened. All kinds of assumptions are coming up and we must wait and see.

"We are just waiting for updates from the police. Let the authorities conduct their investigation," she said when met at the search location.

Meanwhile, Norzila said that the search for Ija was also assisted by close friends who were willing to come from far away, including Johor Bahru.

"Since the incident, his friends have been searching everywhere so Ija can be found. However, until now there has been no sign.

"We pray for the best for Ija. May Allah guide us to where he is at this time," she said.

It was earlier reported that the search and rescue operation for Ija has been expanded to a 10-kilometre radius and is ongoing. - July 17, 2025
