KOTA BARU – The flood situation in Kelantan is improving, with only 122 people from 39 families still at three relief centres today, down from 307 people from 123 families yesterday.

According to the Welfare Department’s InfoBencana app, the centres still open are in Pasir Mas, with the highest number of evacuees at SK Tok Deh (44 people), followed by SK Bakong (43) and SK Kedai Tanjong (35).

Rantau Panjang fire station chief Imran Ismail said Sg Golok’s level at the assessment point there is above “warning” at 8.42m – the warning level being 8m – but is receding.

He attributed the situation to good weather, with no heavy rain in the last two days. – Bernama, December 25, 2020
