False claims by self-styled ‘surgeon’ in Zara Qairina case debunked – Communications Minister
“The individual is not a forensic specialist,” Fahmi says - August 16, 2025

COMMUNICATIONS Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has confirmed that the man who publicly claimed to be a ‘surgeon’ involved in the autopsy of Zara Qairina Mahathir is neither a certified forensic expert nor involved in the investigation.

Speaking after officiating the launch of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign for Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya 2025, Fahmi said the Ministry of Health had verified that the individual had no role in the case.

“I’ve been informed of the matter by several forensic experts and the police. The individual is not a forensic specialist,” he said.

“All the information he has been spreading is false. This was confirmed by the Deputy Director-General of Health,” he added.

Fahmi also revealed that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) are actively investigating the man’s true identity and whereabouts.

“We don’t know who he is, which is why MCMC and PDRM are working to trace and identify him,” he said.

The case of 13-year-old Zara Qairina has sparked nationwide attention, and authorities have urged the public not to spread unverified claims that could undermine ongoing investigations. - August 16, 2025
