PUTRAJAYA – The Communications and Multimedia Ministry and National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) will monitor the implementation and compliance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) outlined by the National Security Council to curb the spread of Covid-19 at cinemas nationwide.

In a statement today, Finas said a “Lawatan Santai” programme was held at the Golden Screen Cinemas in Alamanda Shopping Centre, here, yesterday, aimed at monitoring the implementation and compliance of SOPs at the venue.

The ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek officiated the programme, which also saw the attendance of Finas chief executive officer Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri.

Mohammad also visited the cinema’s projector room to monitor operations and the film screening process behind the scenes.

According to Finas, the programme seeks to strengthen the strategic relationship between itself, the ministry and cinema industry players in facing the challenges of economic recovery following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. – Bernama, December 25, 2020
