A MAN, believed to be the son of a former Prime Minister, has been detained by police after a quantity of heroin and drug-related equipment were found in his car during an integrated crime prevention operation along the Sprint Highway.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the arrest when contacted, saying, “Yes, I can confirm [the arrest],” but declined to provide further details.

The operation, conducted by officers and personnel from the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) around the Damansara area, led to the search of the suspect’s vehicle.

According to sources, a small amount of heroin and several items believed to be used for drug consumption were found during the inspection.

It is understood that the suspect, who is in his 20s, has a prior criminal record related to narcotics. - August 24, 2025
