THE United States has reaffirmed its commitment to a strong and enduring partnership with Malaysia, anchored in shared values of peace, security and prosperity.

In a message commemorating Malaysia’s 68th National Day, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio conveyed his “warmest congratulations” to the Malaysian people, expressing confidence in the continued growth of bilateral ties.

“On behalf of the United States, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Malaysia on the 68th anniversary of your independence on 31 August,” said Rubio in a statement published on the official Facebook page of the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

He noted that the relationship between the two countries has spanned decades, built on mutual interests and cooperation.
