THE Aerotrain system at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has resumed full 24-hour operations following the completion of scheduled maintenance works that took place between 18 and 31 August, Malaysia Airports announced on Tuesday.
In a statement, Malaysia Airports confirmed the works were completed on schedule and without any disruption to passenger movement.
"The maintenance operations were carried out to enhance system responsiveness and reliability, based on operational data gathered since the Aerotrain’s relaunch on 1 July 2025," the statement read.
Managing Director of Malaysia Airports, Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani, described the Aerotrain as a vital component of KLIA's daily operations, reaffirming the company's commitment to delivering a dependable and comfortable passenger experience.
"The completion of this scheduled work reflects our focus on service excellence and ensuring a seamless travel experience at the airport.
"We will continue to invest in infrastructure that enhances reliability, safety, and comfort for all travellers," he said.
The maintenance was conducted during non-peak hours between midnight and 5 am daily. During this period, connectivity between the Main Terminal Building and the Satellite Building was maintained via shuttle buses, with operations proceeding smoothly.
Aerotrain contractor Alstom also confirmed that testing of an updated signalling software was carried out during the maintenance window.
